Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.2/100, a mean average of 63.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.1.

Not impressive, but some good songs.
Só não é completamente estéril pelo toque latino em algumas músicas.
While 'Camila' has some great pop highlights, this album is almost entirely devoid of personality or uniqueness, trading these superfluous characteristics for generic, sparse, guitar driven break up/hook up ballads supported by genius lyricism ('Something's gotta give, something's gotta break / But all I do is give, and all you do is take'). Promising going into it (I liked most of the singles) but failed to execute any sort of consistency.
Very laid back and beautiful. Definitely a welcome change.
Very run-of-the-mill pop album. There are a couple stand-out tracks, such as "She Loves Control" and "Never The Same", and, for better or for worse, "Havana". Aside from the handful of tracks that left an impression on me, the others were just very unremarkable, verging on boring. You can't really blame Camila, she does her thing and she's just executing a commercially viable album, but it's not something I'll be revisiting.
Solid debut that doesn't quite have enough standout tracks to really be a breakthrough. Camilla at this point seems to go more on attitude than technical prowess (she has a fine if somewhat dry voice), but the album occassionally relies a bit too much on studio gimmicks than letting her cut loose and really breathe life into t he fairly standard lightly cosmopolitan pop songs.
She needs more songs like Havana; lots of energy, personality, decent storytelling, and a distinct sound. Slow singer-songwriter just isn't her lane right now, she isn't a strong enough singer or lyricist to save all these slow songs.
It's better than I expected it to be, but little more than that. Her voice is technically good, (presuming she sounds more or less the same live), however, it is new levels of generic and boring. The instruments in the background tell a similar story.
