Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Un Neil Young impegnato, toccato dai fatti dell'11 Settembre 2001, schierato contro il bellicismo americano, patriottico ( "America the beautiful" ), fortemente critico nei confronti di George Bush Jr. ( "Let's impeach the President" ) e che cita Bob Dylan adattandolo alla situazione ( "Flags of freedom" ). "Living with war" ha un suono ruvido nonostante il frequente utilizzo delle voci dei bambini, ma ha anche un andazzo lineare, a tratti troppo… Niente di eccezionale, ma un lavoro discreto e fatto con passione.

This is straight on Neil Young, trying to recapture the '60's. The fact that he does so to a degree still tells you a lot. These are by and large simple (and even simplistic, on Let's Impeach) but Families and Flags of Freedom are just as gorgeous (if not possibly as fresh) as classic Neil.
