Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.6/100, a mean average of 71.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.8.

Very AOR prog-influenced light rock

Lots of great stuff on this album: Suite Madame Blue, Lorelei, Midnight Ride, etc. Styx is very underrated on this site.

Decent effort from a decent rock and roll band. Still, if this is,what you are listening too, it is time to begin a search for new music!

Not a big Styx fan, but this was and is a very good rock album. I bought it when it came out. Much better than the sappy, weak bubblegum stuff they made after The Grand Illusion, of which I was no big fan, either. Once "Babe" came out, Styx was dead to me.

Suite Madame Blue is one of the best songs, even if it's a little derivative of "Baby I'm Gonna Leave You".

A solid effort and a significant improvement on their predecessor, Man Of Miracles. The first side is consistent but not great. However the second side from start to finish is pure Magic! And they sound even better live!
