Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.0/100, a mean average of 75.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.9.

I’m all to familiar with this album. I would listen to this a lot in my teenage years. Point Of No Return is one of my all time favorite songs. For me this album is kind of chaotic. It’s all over the board. A lot of good jams but the lyrics are disconnected and as a whole not that good. Seems like they went into the studio with a couple of good tracks and just haphazardly added the others. Never the less I rated this an 85.
Very strong follow-up to Leftoverture, high-energy prog/hard rock all the way through save for the wonderful gentleness of Dust in the Wind. Definitely a must-listen album for prog enthusiasts like its predecessor.
Este álbum disputa a Leftoverture ser considerado mejor trabajo de Kansas. Personalmente, prefiero Point Of Know Return.
Defend from the deep of my heart. Gets me full of happiness, even my favourite on Kansas dischography (according to me).
I'm really tired of "Dust in the wind", therefore -0.5 stars. But Overall still a great record… The first Studio Album of Kansas I've listened to. Started of Course with "Two for the Show"
While not quite Leftoverture, this is still a great album. It can get a bit monotonous in places, but there are enough great cuts to keep this near the top of the Kansas heap. Aside from the two big hits, 'Portrait' is also a keeper.
Not as good as Left Overture, IMO. Sparks of the Tempest is the best song on the album, by far, to me. Dust in the Wind is just too soft for my tastes, though I understand its appeal, especially to women. It's pure soft rock.
Best Track: Dust in the Wind
Good, but it feels held back due to inconsistency and lack of depth. It feels like it could be a lot better. The popiness of this album is one of its greatest qualities but it also keeps it from being an amazing album.
Kansas was probably the best USA prog band... They used the violin in their songs giving them a uinque touch. This is perhaps the best album.
