Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 18% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.1/100, a mean average of 72.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.0.

A very HIGH quality exaple of the clean and soft pop of the early 80, this is so good.

The sleeve art doesn’t do this album justice. Worth owning for Gold and True alone, but there’s plenty more to enjoy here.

Spandau Ballet may have to be classified as the quinessential new-wave synth-pop band of all time, but with "True" the group reached a pinnacle. Each song brings the icy cold, detached, robotic textures associated with the era's stereotypical non-human origins- but Tony Hadley's expressive vocal talents gave each song a heartbeat. He along with ABC's Martin Fry were comparable as big-voiced singers of the era, with synthesized music backing. This album was so popular that it warranted a re-issue/re-release in 2003, 2008, 2010. The Tracks, highlighted by the album's title track, and featuring radio friendly tunes like "Gold" and "Communication" are a terrific nostalgia trip back to the 80s.

One of the first albums I ever got into. Every tune is catchy and memorable. Tony Hadley has an outstanding voice.

This band has more style than substance. Still, there are some really catching songs (True, Gold) that get under your skin. In the end you will be humming or singing them in the most unusual places.
