Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.3/100, a mean average of 76.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.5.

I've heard some people call this better than Band on the Run. Can't say I agree, but it is a damn good record that is a high point for Wings. Particularly the first 6-7 tracks are fab. And it's immaculately produced. There's a great article about Paul being a pop auteur, and I think I can get behind that. Even on his lesser work, there's always glimmers of genius. On this one, I'd say more than a glimmer. It's not a masterpiece, but it is consistently enjoyable.

Disco infravalorado, este me parece el mejor álbum de la dilatada trayectoria de McCartney, con canciones maravillosas como Love In Song, Venus & Mars, Rock Show... Hasta la de Jimmy McCulloch (Medicine Jar) me parece extraordinaria.

Released right in the midst of Wings' peak. So many great tracks on here: Letting Go, Call Me Back Again, Magneto and Titanium Man, Listen to What the Man Said, etc. One of McCartney's best.

One of McCartney's best solo efforts. No it's not as good as Band on the Run. What is? Lots of excellent material though : Rock Show is a great opener and an amusing swipe at the whole rock culture circa 1975. Love in Song is one of the finest McCartney solo songs. Others are fun. It's actually more consistent than Band. But it lacks a great single. Never liked Listen to What the Man Said and You Gave Me the Answer is one time too many for the hat and cane routine.

Just a fun pop rock album. Wasn't meant to be a great album, don't take it too seriously, just enjoy the music. If you're looking for a groundbreaking album, don't bother listening, but that doesn't mean it's not enjoyable.

Having grown up with 'Wings Over America'(Dad's Triple album) the studio tracks here don't quite do it for me very average compared, other than 'Listen to what the Man said','rock Show'best here,'love in Song' a favourite also.

Imho Venus and Mars deserves more credit. It is more consistent than Band on the Run, although the highlights are not as high as that album.

A must-listen for McCartney lovers.

Not Band on the Run. Listenable, but not memorable.

The follow up to, band on the run, Venus and mars, is an enjoyable album. It's certainly not Paul McCartney at his best, but it does feature some good songs. Best of the bunch is the hit single, listen to what the man said, a great song. Elsewhere, the Venus and mars/rock show, duo is fun, spirits of ancient Egypt, is good, and, Jimmy Mculloch's, medicine jar, is an enjoyable rock track. My favourite though is the lovley, treat her gently/lonely old people, it's great. All in all, a good album, though not one of McCartney's best.
