Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Wait what.. this is good! Catchy and fun. She deserves more credit in the pop world. It's hard to beat her first album but this and Make Believe are still really good.
I used to love Santigold back when she was Santogold, and then I just kinda forgot she existed. Thankfully, 99¢ helped fix that. Rather than just being middle-of-the-road art-pop fodder for adverts (which is what I was expecting), this is a rather decent, incisive album featuring a plethora of neat collaborators.
Best track: Chasing Shadows. Encapsulates the album’s themes nicely, and it’s really catchy to boot.
