Mogwai are always best witnessed live. This album however I can enjoy just as much on my hifi at home and feel it has more texture than the earlier quiet/loud/quiet/extremely loud formula...the opening track sounds amazing and it also features '2 wrongs make 1 right' which is one of my favourite Mogwai tracks. So had I not gone for 'Ostrich Churchyard' in my top 100 this would be there instead. Did I make the right call? I dunno as they're both fantastic. Ostrich Churchyard has a much better first side whilst this is stronger on the 2nd side. Can't really split the cover versions as both are great (Love, Love or Holiday Hymn) so it comes down to one major omission on this album and that's the wonderful Intuition Told Me part 2 being replaced by the so-so Onwards & Upwards. Having said that I do miss Falling & Laughing not being on OC but it does have Louise Louise. [First added to this chart: 10/20/2015]
