Top 50 Greatest Music Albums by tylerakern Unknown

This Chart is just a list of my favorite albums. I'm not going to put a bunch of The Beatles or Radiohead albums that I never listen to in here just to make it align with what people consider to be the "best albums of all time" because I don't enjoy listening to them. I appreciate them but don't consider them my favorites and that's how I judge what goes in and what doesn't.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 79.7/100, a mean average of 74.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.1/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 25.8.

Lot's of great choices. I can't bring myself to give it higher than an 80 because it only has post 2000 music, but for a purely modern chart it is very good.

Another interesting, unique chart, though it's only from 2000s and 2010s. And also a notable thing to see Sigur Ros on Top 10 XD
