An excellent collection of singles by the former Joy Division. The highlights are their cover of their own song Ceremony, and Bizarre Love Triangle. [First added to this chart: 03/21/2011]

If you are bold enough, rate this album song by song. I challenge you.
Fact: '84 was a f*cking great year: this, Let it Be (the one that matters, at least), Zen Arcade, The Smiths self-titled... the list goes on.
And, for the sake of it, isn't "History Lesson - part II" a song so good and so charming that it could be part of the Velvet's self-titled and third album? That "HEY MR. NARRATOR! This is Bob Dylan to me!" part gives the thrills. It's quite shocking that D. Boon died a mere year after he sang all those "Me and Mike Watt, we played guitar" lyrics. He still left us with this, though. So, thank you, D. I mean it. Many of us do, I'm sure of it.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.5/100, a mean average of 87.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.6/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.3.

We've got quite a lot in common, especially for such a small chart. Can't wait for this to get bigger.

It's fun to see your comments on the Sex Pistols. You think they're pricks but you still listen to them. That's punk for you. I really enjoyed reading through your chart keep adding more albums as soon as you can.
