Top 70 Greatest Music Albums by BassCadet
this list isn't really in any order, but I will rate each album 1-10
1 - worst album of all-time
3 - I do not like it
4 - Below average
5 - mediocre (most music)
6 - good
7 - exceptional
8 - personal favorites
9 - among greatest of all-time
10 - best album of all-time
with all that said, you might see a lot of 8's and wonder why they're here - because they are an important piece of music experience I have had and continue to have in challenging my ways of music appreciation and listening.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 7% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 88.3/100, a mean average of 89.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.3.

A most unique chart indeed. Of those albums that I am familiar with, my own ratings would be 1-2/10 lower than yours. Of the other albums, I have a good sense of the genre, which is not where my musical tastes reside.
So I didn't find this chart very interesting beyond it's uniqueness.
I am not a fan of having compilations (4 in this case) in a greatest 100 (or 70, in this case) chart - even if one of them is the only entry of an Aussie artist.
Some nice obscure stuff here but can’t rate chart without it being in order but overall, I like the albums that you have chosen.
I am curious. How does someone expose themselves to so many obscure albums? This is coming from someone who is rather main stream. Great personal chart!
I think most BEA members would find this chart WAY too mainstream. Geez... don't you know that mass-market sales don't necessarily equate with brilliance?
J/K - what I know, I like. What I don't, I'll have to check out.
respectable choices, but it would be nice if it were in order :)
congrats man this deserves to be on top
Pretty obscure stuff, but everybody loves Neil Young. I'm missing descriptions for at least top 20 albums, otherwise it's good
Well researched chart. I love having new stuff to hear! Thanks for that. I look forward to seeing what you add.
Cool chart.
...mybe a little bit too cool, but good to have a lot to discover.
Pretty obscure stuff here bud, gonna give some of this a listen. Thanks for the suggestions.
