The perfect album in every since of the word, creating intricate soundscapes that I don't think the band has ever really recreated - it's very tough to say why the themes of humanity, hedonism and sentience manage to form so well not only through the careful selection of lyrics, but the backing tracks themselves; it just feels like so much more than an album, if I was being pretentious I'd probably say it transcends music itself, but that's dumb.

Much like Discovery, Channel ORANGE exceeds all the rest in it's ability to tell a vivid story of loneliness, isolation and the fleeting connections we make, how the human experience is full of a lot more mediocrity than can really be conveyed directly.

Funny, sad, and very personal - Jeff Tweedy's observations on mediocre relationships, finding solace in passing, and days gone by hit home very well, and that gloomy brown album cover will always come to mind when I'm feeling pretty meh - you know that idea of a great "rainy day album?" I like to think of this as a great cloudy day album, where there's no rain but just a white barren sky.

I'd heard that this was unarguably the best debut/ rock albums ever from this very site, and there's no doubt that it lives up to the praise, with that curve-ball beauty Sunday Morning, before moving right onto the hard rock of tracks like Waiting For The Man and Venus in Furs - Lou Reed was just so undeniably cool, and he backed that bad ass rock persona with an amazing songwriting ability.

The concept albums to end all concept albums - it's the definitive Bowie record, a glam rock masterpiece that hits it hard with my favorite song of his, Five Years, and takes us throw a bevy of different tones, moods, and stories, never once failing to deliver the genius of Ziggy.

I have a thing for folksy guitar music, sue me, but I really don't think there will be another album that will reach the epic scale that Sufjan Stevens reached with Illinois; bombastic, sentimental, and nostalgic.

A simple album that works entirely in how close and intimate it is, not relying on anything but the great multi-layering of Vernon's beautiful voice.

Right now, there's way to tell if Kendrick Lamar will ever really live up to his politically dense masterpiece, but for right now it's safe to say that he's cemented his place is rap history.

Weezer's first album was the one that really got me into rock, and it's all because of those uncomfortably intimate subject matters that Rivers Cuomo needed to express.

MBDTF was an odd little album was something that really didn't impress me the first listen, but when you look closer and start to see something that really encompasses the egotistical, aware of his own shortcomings, genius that is Kanye West

This gotta be one of the best charts I've ever seen here. Firstly you have (as the only person) Discovery as #1, which I think perfectly saved my evening. That album does need more credit in a time like this (btw I'm listening to High Life/Something About Us while writing). Then Frank Ocean's new classic. Wilco's wildly acclaimed album, that I just like. VU+N I always thought was overrated, but I accept your opinion. Three albums I'm exicted to check out in TR&FoZS&TSFM, Illinois, 4EFA. The Blue Album (a true classic), + one of the best albums of all time;MBDTF. And that's just the top 10 - you have freaking MMLP as well along with other blasts like Demon Days, Kid A etc.

And the fact that you wrote descriptions (which are amazing ones), you deserves a favorite from me. 100%
