To make this chart, I considered a few things including the photography/imagry and color pallet that appeals to me the most, how well each cover helped convey the story of the music held inside, and simply which covers were too iconic to ignore.
Like my main charts, this one will always be a fun work in progress. Feel free to shoutout some recommendations in the comments!

Before you assume this is as high as it is because it’s my all time favorite record (which you wouldn’t be wrong), just take a look at it.
With this album’s cover, I see a rabbit hole. One that leads to a better place with Stevie beckoning from its lighted and delightful other plane of existence. An album that serves as the musical rabbit hole that it is certainly matches in tone with its heavenly and lofty cover and gatefold.

One of the great band photos on an album cover with a great color pallet. The band were absolutely a hit factory at this point in time and that wasn’t documented more perfectly than on Cosmo’s Factory.

The brilliant 2019 Bad Seeds record gives us a gorgeous peek at what the music emotes. There are moments on Ghosteen that are so moving and colorful, the invoke visions of the cover for me often.
