Favorite Tracks: Little Fury Things, Kracked, The Lung, Raisins, Tarpit
I'll be grazing by your window
Please come pat me on the head
I just want to find out what you're nice to me for
When I look up, don't think I don't know
About all the scabs you dread
It's hard to stomach the gore [First added to this chart: 09/03/2021]
Favorite Tracks: KC Accidental. Almost Crimes, I’m Still Your Fag
You can sometimes forget that there is darkness in people. That they can be forced out of this world by a little pill or shot just because they wanted to escape it. And we blame them, not the world for doing this.
I don’t need drugs. I have Broken Social Scene. Their sophomore album is like a drug. It brings me euphoria and calms me and makes me feel so much. But everytime that final note of Pitter Patter fades out, I think it takes little bit of my soul with it. Soon there won't be any soul left. For now, I can sit here, in pitch black at 11 pm and just bask in the wonder that pours from my headphones.
I found this album at the end of winter break. When I was as tired inside as I looked on the out. Those days when my eyes were glossed over with sorrow and tears. This album spoke to me like nothing else did. I hold this music very dear to my heart. Those drums took their rough calloused hands and reached out. They pulled me in close. Those horns told me that I could do it, that I could push through. I will always be grateful,
I will always be BSS’s Fag.
Heard about your wife and kids where we slept
Felt their mouths with stitches at that were slowly lit
Kept your uniform this time because I couldn't quit
Haven't felt the ground so cold without getting sick
And I'm still your fag
I'm still your fag [First added to this chart: 01/04/2022]
Favorite Tracks: The Revolution Will not Be Televised, Lady Day and John Coltrane, The Prisoner
As lyrically impactful or even more so than What's Going On. The jazz compositions, the funky styles, the politically charged poems. Everything about this album is great.
Plastic people with plastic minds
Are on their way to plastic homes
No beginning, there ain't no ending
Just on and on and on and on and on
It's all because they're so afraid to say that they're alone
Until our hero rides in, rides in on his saxophone
Could you call on Lady Day?
Could you call on John Coltrane?
Now, 'cause they'll, they'll wash your troubles
Your troubles, your troubles, your troubles away! [First added to this chart: 01/23/2021]
Favorite Track: all of it lol [First added to this chart: 04/29/2021]
Favorite Tracks: Never Find a Girl, The Next Time, Standing Time
This album means so much to me. I discovered it while cleaning out my grandmothers house. There is no other album that comes close to comforting me as this one does. [First added to this chart: 06/29/2022]
Favorite Tracks: Bonny, Horsin' Around, When the Angels
My personal favorite "80s" album. Yknow, it just sounds like the 80s. Even so, Paddy's songwriting just brings the album to a whole new level. There's just something different about this album.
I spend the days with my vanity
I'm lost in heaven and I'm lost to earth
Didn't give you minutes not even moments
All my life in a tower of foil
Shaded feelings, don't believe you
When you were there before my eyes
No one planned it took it for granted [First added to this chart: 05/07/2021]
Favorite Tracks: What's Going On, God Is Love, Save the Children
An album that obliterated what was expected from Motown at the time. As Gaye displays his talent in writing and performing compositions, he also perfectly displays his thoughts and feelings about the outside world. It is, arguably, a perfect album, or as close to perfect as you can come.
But who really cares?
Who's willing to try?
To save our world
To save our sweet world
To save a world
That is destined...to die
Oh, la la la la, la la la
Oh, oh, dig it everybody [First added to this chart: 11/11/2020]
Favorite Tracks: Taking Too Long, When It's Over, Youth of America [First added to this chart: 07/26/2021]

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 1% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 92.6/100, a mean average of 94.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 95.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.4.

This must be about the best chart I have ever seen. Its composition is like nothing else I have seen on this site or anywhere else, has some quite good notes (though I will say that they could do more than discuss the best tracks and look at each album’s wider importance) and many very unsual albums. The song list, too, is very good.
¡Dios mío! la mitad de los álbumes que están aquí no los conozco. Me diste algo para escuchar, grandioso chart.
Tu lista de canciones también es muy interesante.
English review
OMG! Half of the albums that are here I don't know. You gave me something to listen to, great chart.
Your track list is also very interesting
Team Dresch!!! Killer selection, my friend! Quite diverse!
Thank you so much for you rating and comment Seb! I will be happy to listen to your recommendation quite soon <3
I really love your chart as well and your notes are awesome.
fantastic chart.
It starts nicely with some classics, but it shows some pretty unknown and interesting picks besides the mainstream.
Nice chart, as far as 60s/70s-centric charts go, this one is right up my alley. Personally my chart is more slanted towards the recent decades, but this is great.
I'll have to listen to the Philippine albums here
Very nice. Lots of my favorites here. I got to give Quicksilver Messenger Service a try.
So Time Out is back on! I really like your list still. Good stuff. A little bit too 70s oriented, which is okay since it's such a great decade for music, but I like to see diversity through out the decades and genres. It just shows more of an open mind but eh... I get it. My original list had nearly 40 entries for the 90s lol.
merry christmas
Cool stuff Great Number 1
