By far and away the best thing Vampire Weekend has ever produced and the only they've made that sounds interesting. But just because it sounds interesting, doesn't mean it is. Alot of the piano progressions seems to sell itself as more well-thoughout than what it turns out to be, and although Classical as well as the jazzy Pavda were great songs, alongside some good ones, Only God Was Above Us isn't a unique album. For a listener, who wants some baroque chamber indie pop, I can still recommend it, but for me who feel like some of the songs are kicking potential melodies out on the railroad in favor of overdone instrumentation, it isn't calling for replayability. Though the worst part about the album is the fact that it's way too cleanly engineered, listen to some slacker rock guys.
Other than that, it's aight.

Every year I seem to feel like I am listening to too much Justin Timberlake than I should've. Not that I don't enjoy it, contrarily he has always been in my top 20 artists since my ears had hearing ability, but I listen to him so much it's unfair to so many other great artists. The last 4 months, my two 20/20 Experience CD's has been spinning like racing car wheels. And I am also a Man of The Woods defender for life, so now he has a new album out now. And in this day of climate, it's pretty much as hard being a Justin Timberlake fan as being a Kanye West fan in 2013.

It doesn't help the fact that this is easily his weakest release, very obviously. Even though the production sounds clean, it feels gutless with no identity, which is a crime in JT-land. These songs have no pacing or bite in the rhythm, and it hurts to say let alone hear. Justin even sells himself super short, on lyrics with no unique refrains, and especially his vocals, narrowing down to a faceless autotune (yuck) containing slug. This album in a word is uninspired. Do what JT does on the album cover, and turn your back on this.

Tracks worth saving: Technicolor, with its way of interpreting the lo-fi study bedroom pop sound going on for about a decade now. Justin gives a very solid spin on it and even if the beat switch is a bit underwhelming it's still moody in a good way. The single Selfish was also good though not worth putting in the same boat as the singles from any of his other records (except Filthy).

Best thing he has done in 14 years that's not named Kids See Ghosts, but that ain't saying nothing. Kanye's best years is faaaaaar behind him, and beside the pretty solid banger Burn, there is nothing for me to really like here. Not to mention a lot of the annoying slapdashed trash he has carried around his music since 2012 also shows up here alot. And Ty Dolla $ign is just another by-the-numbers autotune crooner, though better than average - yet again not really saying anything.

This album is soulless and boring jangle pop rock, it nearly put me to sleep. No songs worth saving. No good riffs nor songwriting, let alone stuff coming close to what they did a decade ago. I am going to bed.

Can it be more by-the-numbers, phoned in or less melodic? Probably not by Usher standards. This thing was manufactured, processed and boring asf. And I don't wanna hear about Raymond making sex songs both with his age and his disease. I'm sorry but I'll stick with the 2001-2012 era, this thing was hot garbage.

Predictable, trite, unfocused, tiresome, utterly manufactured trash. You guys need to listen to me when I tell you never to trust a pop act claiming that their next work will be "different/alternative" than the next!.

How the heck does Jacob Collier find the time to suck at making so much music? He is the embodiment of AI: looks younger cause he never aged, musically technically fine but the epitome of soullessness with nothing even remotely human or personal in it. But I gotta thank him for giving me a new prime example of the more you try to impress instead of expressing, the more the music stinks. My synesthesia said that most of this craptastic album tastes like cold sugary tea, mixed with fish sauce drunk from a plastic bag, and even that sounds more fun trying to experiment with than this nonsense. Honestly, I hope Collier could take some drugs, like wild psychedelics and stuff, that would maybe open his mind to a direction leading to actual fine and creative music. I am surprisingly baffled by how many layers of trash Djesse Vol 4 is, but I'd rather never think about this album again so I will....just....stop now, wooow!

whats the difference between mgk and tom macdonald? they pander to different groups of people. tommyboy is for the republican american patriots, and mgk is for the "sadboys". the fact that this dude is in his 30s and is still singing and composing like a heartbroken 12 year old isn't even the worst part of it. that is that mgk actually used to be really good and above all authentic, he has had some heavy life struggles. but now he is clearly making a mockery of not only his own life but everybody who turns to great sad music as a way of staying alive, by making the most plastic, manufactured, compositionless, predictable "sadboy" music album I think I have ever heard in my entire life. how does he even manage to take most of the dumb cliches and make them even dumber. you even dare to compress the vocals as well as having bland asf trap production here, that stuff dried out years ago. like I said, this guy is literally mocking me and my depression and my favorite music by this disasterpiece's existence. doing crimes in reality, was not enough for mgk, he also needs to do it to music apparently

oh and yeah hiffy mid is a monkey too here.
