Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 85.8/100, a mean average of 85.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.2/100. The standard deviation for this track is 10.8.

A very strong track, the mellotron is put to good use here. The acoustic guitar is incessant and it makes the track for me.

A favorite of a lot of Genesis fans, but not me. Just never clicked with me the way it did with others. Still, definitely a strong track. The highlight of the song has to be the middle third, what with Banks going all out on the mellotron and later the keyboard. Throw in some nice 12-string from Hackett and a strong Gabriel vocal and you have your typical Genesis track. I just don't think it's as satisfying to listen to all the way through as something like Watcher of the Skies or Get 'Em Out by Friday. Definitely a worthy addition to the Genesis repertoire though.

This is one of those songs that has everything I think of as typical Gabriel Genesis; the storytelling, the folky pastoral guitar, the mellotron, the crazy instrumental keyboard parts, everything. It's such fun to listen to.
