The best thing about it? The image its managed to garner for being a cheesy "I love my country" overproduced 80s pop rock anthem only goes to confirm the cynical vitriol of its message. One of popular music's all time great middle fingers to the rest of the world.
Meaningful lyrics and hard edged topic, but just a very simple song format which doesn't add much on repeated listens. And his voice sounds shot.

A cliche 80s rock song? You've probably never read its lyrics. This song is 5 times better than an average "cliche rock song" from that time.
