Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.1/100, a mean average of 70.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

It's a pretty good debut. Hush is fantastic. Their next two Mach 1 albums to follow are quite a bit better.

Organ grinding orgy, the origins of Purple is clearly showing. Hush

Why many people do not apreciate this album as it would deserve? Ok, many covers as used to do during that times, but... how them have been re-arranged?! Great stuff!

As I expected: they were Jimi Hendrix clones in the '60s. The songs themselves are not all that bad though, so it could be a nice listen for Hendrix fans.

Understandably overshadowed by what would come later from the Mk II version of the band. However, this is a very solid debut album that the Mk I version of the band would never be able to top. Hush, Mandrake Root, Help!, and Hey Joe are all great.

Upon listening to this it is better than I remembered. It won't ever be listed up there with Deep Purple's three classic albums (In Rock/Fireball/Machine Head) but it has it's moments, notably the hit single Hush.
