My December (studio album) by Kelly Clarkson

I really do not like Kelly Clarkson. This album is really bad without any interest. Fake Rock. Stupid pop for teenager not very smart. Lyrics completely bad and without interest. I really hate this album which is really overrated.

Her most unique, and while not my favorite, it sure is up there. Sober is one of the most beautiful songs ever sung

Hard to rate. It's not as easy to get into as most pop albums, because of the harder sound. Definitely has some standout tracks, but I'm not sure how I feel about some of the others. Not guilty of filler, and you have to respect that this is a direction that she chose.

Very good pop rock album. Best 10 songs average is 89,7/100 and the album can get very good 90/100. Best songs are "Never again", "One minute", "Sober", "Don't waste your time", "Judas", "Haunted", "Maybe" and "How I feel" all very good 90/100. What the hell, it's half of the album. All other songs good 80-85/100, except "Yeah" average 75/100 only.

This album is very specific to a certain taste, so it won't be for everybody, but I consider it to be nothing short of an emotional masterclass. I find it ironic that junodog complimented the effort, because one of the first thoughts that comes to my mind about this album is how little effort it must have taken. I mean, she literally wrote one of these songs in fifteen minutes on the bathroom floor. She didn't have to put forth too much effort, because she just wrote what she felt. Ernest Hemingway said that good writing takes no effort. You just sit there and bleed. That's exactly what Kelly did here. With that said, Kelly's vocals are obviously what she's most praised for, and they are her secret weapon on this album. She had to fight money hungry Clive Davis to get this not-so commercial friendly album out, and I'm glad she did. You can hear some influences from U2 (Sober), The Cars (How I Feel), and Alanis Morissette (Never Again), and they all do their influencers justice. You can tell these songs were all written out of real emotions, and you can hear that in Kelly's voice, when she's desperately pleading lines like "Can you feel how cold I am?", "Three months, and I still remember it", and "I'm gonna try to give you ... every single detail you missed with your eyes". It's absolutely painful, and absolutely beautiful. I envy the lives of anyone who can't find an emotional connection to these songs. This is real pain. This is what music is all about. Anyone who knows these emotions should be able to attest to the fact that, lyrically and vocally, she hits these thoughts and feelings dead-on. She taps into very specific emotions and experiences so perfectly that it might neglect the masses, but those who have felt these same emotions will feel numb by the time this album is over. She also knows how to contrast these negative feelings, with the emotional desires and fantasies that one who has these negative feelings would develop, in songs like Be Still. Then there are songs like Maybe, which is a vocal powerhouse of a song. In fact, Kelly's performance throughout the entirety of My December is one of the best vocal performances I've ever heard on an album, and the music and lyrics do her vocals justice. I hope she puts out at least one more album like this.

She's working at it, but missing the mark. A for effort.

Nice Rock sound but lack of originality is obvious. I still like Kelly
