Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.6/100, a mean average of 71.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.6.

My favorite of the 'Knots' albums. More melody within most songs compared to the previous albums but still some furious stuff on here. Some absolute killer tunes (Duality, Circle, Vermilion parts 1 and 2, Before I forget). If I was recommending an album for someone who's just discovering them, this would be the one.
I found this much more accessible than "Iowa" or their self titled album, which were barely listenable for me. I don't see myself returning to this album, but it was an interesting listen and by no means a waste of time. Overall, 70/100.
Really good album.
Favorites: Three Nil, The Nameless.
Slipknot thats actually "sing-along" worthy... Thanks Rick Rubin. Top tracks: Duality, Vermilion, Vermilion Pt. 2, Before I Forget, & Cricle
Duuude, look all the hate in ratings lol
Great album. Shows how dynamic the band was at the time.
I know right man, this is an excellent album. Especially from Slipknot, holy cow.
Slipknots masterpiece, there is only one weak track (The Virus of Life) all the other tracks are brilliant
