Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. There are some artists you only like one album, who knows why. This is one of those for me; I haven't been able to find anything else by Scott Walker that I like much, but this one haunts me for some reason.
