Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 72.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.6.

HIStory is considered as the most personal album by MJ, mainly because it came after the 1993 allegations. It’s a powerful album with powerful songs, the opener Scream is perfect production, They Don’t Care About Us is a standout and one of the greatest song about racism, used by the BLM.
Stranger In Moscow is my favorite from the album and one of the best example of MJ’s songwriting genius. Earth Song is one of the best too.
But HIStory is the first inconsistant album by MJ, This Time Around isn’t as great as the 3 first songs.
It’s the same thing with D.S, Money, Come Together (released during Bad era) is completely out of place, Childhood, 2 Bad, and Little Susie.
You Are Not Alone, Tabloid Junkie and History are good songs but not standout.
Good album but far from his best.
8/10

This should be no.1 in 1995.
Mais alguns clássicos instantâneos do rei.
Rating just the second disc at 80, Stranger in Moscow is the stand out track, but there is some real rubbish on here. Little Susie is terrible.
A compilation and album in one, what a stupid idea. Anyway, let me just review the new songs:
“Stranger in Moscow” was the first time I was exposed to his music and trip hop (this or “Teardrop”), and it’s still an intriguing song. It took me a long time to bother to check the rest of his music, but when I finally did, it was clear that “Stranger in Moscow” is the best part of this album. But certainly not a bad album in general.
It's one of my favorites. The compilation part doesn't count.
Highlights: They Don't Care About Us, Stranger In Moscow, Earth Song, D.S, Come Together*, Childhood, Tabloid Junkie, HIStory, Little Susie, Smile.
*actually I think it's better than the Beatles version, it's funkier and I love it.
Not counting the hits, this is still a pretty solid album from MJ mostly continuing in the style of Dangerous. There are a couple way-too-sappy songs on here ("little susie"??) that detract from what could've been a stronger album.
A pretty good album that showcases his talents as well as his impressive collection of hits. Sadly, the rest of the album is somewhat...bleh. Some of the songs are so average sounding.
