Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.3/100, a mean average of 69.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.2.

This album is an underrated gem, and I suppose was slightly out of place for the time it was released back in 1991. However, really this another classic album from Dire Straits that stands the test of time. Ticket To Heaven is the sleeper tack and timeless track on this album for me.
A bit of a lazy album. There are some excellent tracks, Calling Elvis, On Every Street, Heavy Fuel but the rest are fairly mediocre and don't come close to the songs on previous records.
Solid low-key rock 'n' roll, but a bit unremarkable compared to previous Dire Straits albums. Still worth exploring though.
Meh. Rating (72.08)
The 4 sided vinyl version sounds amazing! What great bunch of songs!...which is not to say a great album--like no "feal" to this album--but a so many great songs.
Very good album. Best 10 songs average is 88,5/100 and the album can get very good 90/100. Best song is "Calling elvis" great 95/100, followed by "Every street", "When it comes to you" and "The bug" all very good 90/100. All other songs ok to good 75-85/100. Favourite!
Genre: Rock, Pop Rock
A disappointing final album for Dire Straits. It sounds more like a Mark Knopfler solo album to me, which in eccense I suppose that's what it is. The forgotten Dire Straits album.
As a whole this album does not do much for me, it is a collection of songs that do not really fit together (imo), a bit unlike other Dire Straits albums. Looking at the songs individually though, it contains a lot of good songs, like Iron Hand and Fade to Black.
A terrific swan song for Dire Straits. Heavy Fuel is one of the best things they ever did. Other favourites from this album include Calling Elvis, The Bug, On Every Street and My Parties. Nix mix of rockers and jazzier pop numbers.
Some of the tracks at the end of the record lag, but overall a good effort, especially for a final album. I especially like “Heavy Fuel” and “Planet Of New Orleans,” but there are other radio-friendly songs.
