Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 72.5/100, a mean average of 71.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.5/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 13.9.

Extremly underrated post-grunge band. Many critics say they just copied nirvana and as much as u can hear the influence, they realy explored the sound nirvana introudeced in '91 and added their own signature twist (f.e track "emotion sickness" sounds nothing like anything from nirvana and still stays within genre) so i cant agree 100% with crits. forget about their last album "young modern" , but first 4 albums (especially neon ballroom) are true gems
Post-grunge in smooth version
If they had only stopped one album earlier, they could have finished on top, but unfortunately their final album Young Modern was a disappointing departure from their other 4 albums. Daniel Johns had a talent for songwriting, beyond the teenage garage-band crowd Silverchair was initially lumped in with. He expanded beyond just a hard rock band in a post-Nirvana landscape, into developing his own signature style. Frogstomp and Diorama are both strong albums while being stylistically so different, and Neon Ballroom is their best, where the two extremes are harmonised and at their best.
I started liking this band after I heard the song 'The Greatest View' from Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 and discovered more of their earlier tracks, especially the songs 'Tomorrow' and 'Anthem for the year 2000'. (Songs they wrote before they were 21 years of age.)
Great band, they have turned a little pop through the time, but always with style.
I'm so glad for Australia's sake that these guys aren't one of their best. Started unoriginal, became unremarkable.
Overall one of the best Australian bands ever I reckon.
