An original glam rocker with Mott The Hoople ‘Unter went on to a successful solo career with Mick Ronson often in his band. Ian was a huge influence on the next generation of hair metal bands such as Great White and Motley Crue but his material has a profound depth that would invoke comparison to Bob Dylan. I highly recommend his 1st self titled album, You’re Never Alone With A Schizophrenic and Welcome To The Club.
The former lead singer of Mott The Hoople went on to a long solo career of moderate success - stereotyped as another angry, young man singer/songwriter in the vein of Elvis Costello, Graham Parker and Joe Jackson. Hunter established his own unique vision, probably more revered in the U.K. and Europe than in the U.S. His work had a difficult challenge competing in the U.S. market.
Ian has produced some excellent albums.
