On the recommendation of a friend, I decided to give this album a listen. I love it. Its unique blend of baroque pop and indie rock create this anthemic masterpiece. The album should quite simply be the soundtrack to any revolution. Win Butler's voice cuts through the tight musicianship to deliver pure poetry to your ears ("I carved your name across my eyelids. You pray for rain, I pray for blindness"). A modern classic is not a prestigious enough title for this masterpiece.

As far as I am concerned this is the album that defined the 00s indie scene. Superior to anything that Arctic Monkeys did, any day of the week.

Just wonderful. In terms of their scene, The Streets are ahead of their time. Mike Skinner's flow and urban poetry cut through the harsh beats that dominate this album. The whole album follows this understated plot that we are guided through with each verse, as opposed to just having a concept it follows a strong storyline that culminates in the magnificent final two tracks, "Dry Your eyes" and "Empty Cans". It's an album that cemented The Streets as one of the most interesting and flat out brilliant acts of the 00s. It carries the same heart on your sleeve attitude that Skinner's lyrics always are known for and it takes you on an emotional journey, like no other album has.

While technically an EP this is an album that deserves to be ranked as one of the Monkeys' best. It is really excellent and produces a song that was not only criminally left off of "Whatever People Say I am..." but is My favourite song by them.

I have grown to love Green day and this is quite definitely their best album. An excellent concept album that spans every sort of style that they could have made fit with the album ten minute multi-story songs and short and sweet snippets of punk.

This album is just weird. Amazing, but weird. It's so unlike any other Radiohead album. I speaks so much for Radiohead's ability that they could create an album as alienating as this and still have it regarded as one of the best albums of all time, not just one of their best.
A mesmerising work and it's hard to believe that it was made by the same group who made "The Bends".

I love this album. I used to dismiss The White Stripes as a band that rode their one good song all the way they could. I could not have been more incorrect about this. They are simply fantastic. This album is excellent in every sense of the word. It just shines. I couldnt love it more.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.4/100, a mean average of 82.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 19.5.

I checked Tilt - it was great. If you like that kinda stuff you should really check out Nico's solo stuff, honestly so similar, I'd check 'Desertshore' and 'Marble Index' which are both very similar dark avant-garde kinda music. Also, sorta similar, you should check out Popol Vuh though they're not exactly like 'Tilt', they share some similarities in the atmospheric noises - 'Hosianna Mantra' would be the place to start, and 'In Den Garten Pharaos' is good too.
