Great sound for a two piece. Quite rightly heralded as their best album even though it was commercially pushed. It's the wide musical variety throughout this that makes this stand apart from their other albums. My favorite from them. [First added to this chart: 10/30/2020]

When they were in their glory days and had hit their stride. 'Origin of Symmetry' was good but this is another level. Bombastic, grandeur, grandiose. An absolute joy. 03/24 [First added to this chart: 10/30/2020]

A hard album to put into words. Beautiful ?? Atmospheric ?? Hypnotic ?? The sense of underlying darkness ??
Whatever it may be this is a brilliant album. Just keeps growing on me and gets better every time. Prog rock on a heavier scale.

Hands down the best of all Placebo albums. The most consistent with the highest number of top quality songs with only a couple of tracks that fall into the filler category. Great rhythms, melodies and riffs. Surprising it's not rated higher within their cannon. [First added to this chart: 10/30/2020]

This is the 4th Elbow album I've purchased and it has not let me down. Not as outstanding as some of the others as a few tracks on this can fall under the filler category. But still a very worthy album with the majority of songs up there with some of there best [First added to this chart: 11/04/2021]

Fine album. Very dystopian overtones yet with some beautiful pieces throughout. Slightly reminds me of Pink Floyds 'The Wall' without being plagiarized. Totally their own. Unkle are a band that are very unique in style and sound. I find them hard to define. A class unto themselves. [First added to this chart: 03/12/2022]

This is growing on me more every time I listen to it. Took a while but enjoying it a lot more every time. The genre blending and dual vocals they do well. The formula of their song structure is similar on many tracks though which can make a lot of it sound a bit too much the same. But that's easy to overlook. Decent album. I like it. An overlooked and forgotten album. If your a Nick Cave fan, this wont let you down. Not up there with his best but in no way a bad album. Good mix bag of piano driven slower numbers along with some of the classic rockier gothic crooning stuff. The final track is an interesting one. A rocker of close to 15 minutes that just chugs along with no deviation. Not bad, just long. [First added to this chart: 10/30/2020]

Sort of sounds like a sequel to 'Is This It'. There's plenty of top notch tracks but unlike its predecessor it's not as consistent. But that was always going to be a hard ask. Still a great album though. [First added to this chart: 10/30/2020]

Mixed view on this. A couple of songs are kick arse phenomenal hence I initially thought this was top class. But, the more I listen, the more I'm finding the number of experimental tracks bring down the album as a whole. So it's dropped in my opinion. Still good, just not as good as once thought.
