Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 45.9/100, a mean average of 44.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 44.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 23.9.

As disingenuous as it is musically cynical, Divide ensures nothing but the continued division of people who listen to music critically for enjoyment, and people who throw something on in the background that has a beat so the zombie apocalypse will at least have a soundtrack.
The best thing that can be said about the album is that most of songs are at least interesting enough to want to turn them off, as opposed to just being kind of there. For example: mega-hit Shape of You is like an early draft of Mark Mothersbaugh's Rugrats theme song set to vapid poetry, which has some value, even if I don't know what it actually is. I will admit that leadoff track, Eraser, is actually pretty neat, and the closing Supermarket Flowers is saccharine but effective.
But what do I know?
English review:
There are some good songs, but most of them keep the same structure, with chorus vocals and string arrangements towards the end of each song to add soulfulness... it ok, but a bit predictable and boring. It's basically the same stuff that Ed Sheeran has been doing for years.
For me I still really like The Shape of You - perhaps because I don't do a lot of radio so didn't get over exposed. I also rate Perfect and Supermarket Flowers. This is a fair enough pop album
Some great songs (with big commercial success), but it needed more variety to be outstanding.
Listening to this album is as much fun as banging your head against a brick wall.
This album is so hated and I know why, there are few songs that triumphed commercially and people may be hating them whether by their overplaying or by their easy thought lyrics. However, there are other ones that I do enjoy the beat and their story, because Ed focuses on more personal aspects of life by also telling experiences, like on Castle on the Hill, or Supermarket Flowers. I get why it is hated so much, but honestly it shouldn't be that dismissed.
Simples, melódico e radiofônico, nada demais!
Too far into commercialism

Abysmal album from an abysmal "artist". Someone please end his damn career.
