Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 12% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.8/100, a mean average of 76.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.6.

Excellent EP! Daniel has a great voice with good range and technical prowess! Can be very soulful but also borders some folk and maybe a bit of country. His voice is complemented perfectly by his mastery of guitar. He has wonderful chord progression and slips in some arpeggios into his strumming that is such ear candy that it makes you nod your head. Great lyricism and instrumental arrangements to boot! Definitely one of the best EPs I've ever heard!
Only five songs and it's as evocative as anything he's contributed to before. Except these move in a way his other projects don't. Sure, these may be extras tracks from his band's album (like Ben Gibbard's solo album), that doesn't mean they should cast aside. How long has it been since an EP was this good?
pretty much amazing.
(edit:)
wait, I'll add to that... The wiki says these songs were meant for the Grizzly Bear's new album initially. I hope this means those songs will be even better.
Songs here are similar to what Grizzly Bear were doing before, and influenced by some of the 1960s folk/rock music. I'm even hearing some Beatles here... I love it, especially songs 3-5.
