Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.6/100, a mean average of 73.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.8.

This album is a little bloated and I do think the quality does drop off a little at around the mid point, but overall it is another very solid project by Beyonce. Like her last couple of albums, it flows together well and has some amazing production

If this album wasn’t so bloated, it would have been incredible. Some great songs, but a lot of could have been scrapped. 27 songs is clearly a cash grab, but I can look past it because the album is good. Beyoncé for the most part blends her style and country music well.
I like some songs but not the whole album. On this site I analyze albums as a whole.
They censored my previous comment just for saying that it would be difficult to listen to the entire album a second time.
Defending democracy in theory but practicing autocracy
I listened to the whole album but I'm not able to listen to it all a second time
Lemonade was a game changer cuz that's when I started to like Beyonce. Renaissance was pretty darn cool as well but man Cowboy Carter is something else and I don't even like country that much. Very exciting album, especially for being quite long.
I am generationally and stylistically distant from Beyonce in terms of my taste, but this is such a trip of an album. I can't help but love it. Bold as heck and totally epic. Wow! I hope to see this album highly rated with lots of traction on BEA.
Beyonce's follow-up to Renaissance has been characterized as Queen Bey's "country album." Not outside the realm of possibility as she's flirted with it on early records--not to mention she's from Texas; Beynoce is for sure familiar with country. Though she typically dabbles in contemporary trends, and pushes boundaries from time to time, it is still surprising that arguably the biggest R&B artist of the 21st century is pivoting to something so stylistically and aesthetically removed from her typical sound.
Yet, Cowboy Carter delivers just fine as a country album. To label it as any one genre would,, however, do a disservice to how sprawling and strange this record is. At a touch under 80 minutes, Cowboy Carter is an odyssey through the history of contemporary music so unusual and daring that I can't fathom how anyone could have anticipated something like this. Though it rests in twangy melodies and rustic textures, Cowboy Carter is practically a plunderphonics record as it weaves in and out of songs. And while Beyonce has borrowed phrases from other artists on occasion, it's never been to this degree. Cowboy Carter is a postmodern treatise from one of the biggest music stars on the planet. The nods to other songs aren't simply covers or samples; they're often re-contextualized variations. Think Nostalgia, ULTRA on a grander scale.
Cowboy Carter isn't just putting a personal, even original twist on familiar classics. Like Renaissance, this record is steeped in self-love and familial pride, bursting with affection and grace for just about everything in its path. More so than anything she's made, Cowboy Carter is Beynoce's most cinematic work, one that transports and tours through her own legacy. What it lacks in the pop immediacy of her earlier work, it makes up for by being a thrilling holistic experience, and greater than the sum of its parts.

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
