Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.0/100, a mean average of 75.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.2.

Very influential, specially for the Beatles which took allot from their sound, but ofc The Beatles were far more consistent when it comes to good melodies. Also I find this band's covers of Bob Dylan to lack the emotion of the original, Lay Down Your Wery Tune is one of Dylan's strongest vocal performances and full of raw power, but here is kinda lifeless. Overall, it should be remembered more for its influence on the music of the 60s, but a bit inconsistent; though maybe I just need to listen to it more.
It's the Byrds' second album, released in 1965. That pretty much sums it up, sonically.
Maybe a slight sophomore slump, but true to their iconic sounds and delivery. Hard for fans of mid-60's era folk rock to pass up these harmonic, hymn-like musical goods.
Agree with the other comments that side two is rather weak. However the CD release includes several brilliant Gene Clark songs that weren't on the original album.
Basically an inferior version of, Mr. Tambourine man. Turn! turn! turn!, features the same ingredients, Dylan covers, some traditional songs, and some originals, but they just don't have the same freshness as the first album. The title track is nice, another U.S. No:1 hit for the band, and, the world turns all around her, is possibly the best of the originals, and, lay down your weary tune, is the best of the Dylan tracks. All in all, an inferior mirror image of the first LP.
This album starts out great but the songs progressively get worse and more boring.
The last three tracks are awful, the first eight are mostly good. Turn! is one of their best if not THE. The covers outnumber their originals on this album, that's a bit lame. Gene Clark came into his own with his compositions on this one.
Slightly weaker, compared to "Mr. Tambourine man", but still a solid album. "Turn turn turn" and "Set you free this time" are the highlights here. It's not very influential, compared to the other albums. That is the only problem here.
My second favorite from the Byrds, and actually better than the debut. Less Dylan-reliant (but still delivering one of the best covers with "Lay Down Your Weary Tune), featuring a couple of generation-defining songs (the title track and the beautiful JFK tribute "He Was a Friend of Mine") plus some consistently brilliant songwriting from Clark ("Set You Free This Time" a highlight). A perfect snapshot of the Sixties.
The title track is the best
Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is A Season) and Oh! Susannah are my favorite!
