This is a list of my favorite albums. I'm not including classical music or hip hop, the latter because I haven't listened to enough, and the former because I need a list specifically for classical. I tried to do the one album per band thing, but I just couldn't . There are some masterpieces that I can´t leave out even if I have to sacrifice some variety.

Unique . It's not easy, it's not easy at all to create a new sound, but this album does it. It's like diving into a dark sea. If you try to swim, you will get tired and confused. But if you let yourself go, you're going to enjoy the vastness.

It is probably the best album of The Beatles. For some it is for others Revolver or some other. But it is definitely The Beatle most album album, I mean it's not just a collection of great songs, but a work that is much more enjoyable when listened to as a whole. The Beatles' talent at its most elegant and sober phase.

An absolutely consistent realease from Radiohead. An album full of color and textures. It is Radiohead without the intention of breaking schemes, without transforming the music as with Ok Computer or Kid A, this is Radiohead "just" making beautiful music and the result is an impeccable work. 40 minutes of beats, first class jazz percussion, wonderful melodies. I feel it is a more personal and less social album, an album about desires, about Eros, with its darkness and its light.

I am convinced that this album should be known all over the world. One of the most beautiful rock compositions I have ever heard. I would say that it is a record of love, true love, guttural. Full of wonderful melodies, so much so, that when they quote Bach it seems to fit perfectly with the album. Hard rock, flamenco, a bit of metal, progressive rock and lyrics of exceptional quality. A tour de force by Extremoduro, listen to it!

Pink Floyd's greatest artistic statement in my opinion. An ambitious concept album with operatic characteristics, deeply psychological, but also political; very intimate at times but also agressive and orchestral at others. Musically it is wonderfully varied: the instrumental palette includes distorted guitars, backing vocals, brass, string arrangements, piano, and some electronics and sound effects. Vocally it is Pink Floyd's most expressive album. The production is impeccable and makes the little interludes flow perfectly. This is possibly the most important album in my life, possibly one of the most important works of art of my life, the strength with which it expresses the feelings of sadness and loneliness always moves me. A work of art that surpasses the traditional boundaries of Rock. Masterpiece.

Nothing new can be said about this. It´s the quintesential art rock album. I remember the first time I listened to it, after the heratbeat at the end I was silent for a few minutes trying to understand what had happened. A masterpiece that will live as long as mankind lives.

Quite original. The experimental geniuses of CAN release here their most consistent, best focused album. Minimalism and jazz combined, a fundamental album for Krautrock that, in my opinion, has been an inspiration for many experimental bands that followed. An album I enjoy font to back, that never ceases to amaze me.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Fantastic chart and with 33 albums in common I tend to agree with most of the picks. Particularly love seeing 5 albums from Sigur Ros in particular.

gran lista amigo, me fascina ver tu amor por bandas como Yes ó Sigur Rós, pero lo que más me agradó fue ver a Thick a Brick tan alto en la lista, uno de mis discos favoritos de todos los tiempos
