The "Berliner Schule" (Berlin school of electronic music)
was a small group of artists that invented a new form of electronic music in Berlin in the beginning of the 70`s.
They started with the idea of a contemporary technical but atmospheric sound that was never heard before. In the beginning (1970 TD: Electronic Meditations, 1972 Schulze: Irrlicht) they didn`t even have electronic instruments, because there were none.
The were creating simple electronical devices and used various technical instruments and oscillators to create sounds.
A soon as they`ve got the first Moog synthesizers that were handmade by Robert Moog in New York they were able to create a music that came close to the visions that they had.
The time between the invention of the Mini-Moog (1971)and the beginning of the digital aera(Schulze: Dig It 1980 - the first fully digitally recorded and released album) was the best time of the artists of the Berliner Schule.

3. Followers and epigones who tried to keep the spirit of the 70`s:
Kistenmacher, Neden, Klaus Klare, Peter Namlock...
