MY RATING SCALE
95-100 (5/5): Transcendent albums. These albums are among my all time favourites, and will forever be in my rotation. I will also hype the shit out of them whenever asked for an opinion. All tracks, synergy and production close to perfection.
88-94 (4.5/5): Fantastic albums, definitely album of the year contenders. Mostly stellar tracks with awesome synergy and production.
80-87 (4/5): Great albums and recommended listens which are probably also album of the year contenders. Many stand out tracks, but perhaps a couple of filler tracks that keep it from reaching top positions, or it is less synergetically coherent with minor production issues.
75-79 (3.5/5): Good to Great albums. Quite a few stand out tracks, but also a few fillers. Might get repeat full listens but likely to get lost in the shuffle over time.
70-74 (3.5/5): Good album with perhaps 2-3 stand out tracks, but leaning more towards overall good tracks and fillers. Perhaps some synergy or production issues.
65-69 (3/5): Somewhat above average album, perhaps because of a single stand out song or two, but overall not an album that will get repeat listens.
60-64 (3/5): OK album without any real stand out songs. There's nothing bad about it that rubs me the wrong way, but it's also nothing more than mostly uninspiring background music.
50-59 (2.5/5): Mediocre album. Mostly boring filler tracks, perhaps even a couple of bad ones. Probably getting larger issues with synergy and production.
40-49 (2/5): Poor album. Tracks are getting really boring, verging on lousy. Synergy and production issues are also very noticeable.
30-39 (1.5/5): Lousy album. This is getting offensive.
20-29 (1/5): Terrible album. Struggling to find anything redeemable.
0-19 (0.5/5): Disastrous album. How this was even made is beyond comprehension.
