Conflict is good for songwriting. Tim Rice-Oxley is a writer of perfect pop songs and this is an example of it. Criminally underrated.

The best album by the greatest rock n roll band of all time. It's almost perfect and there are only a couple of tracks that bring the average down a bit but, from the opening bell to the final power chord, this is just brilliant.

Not even in the top 250? Ridiculous. One of the greatest bands of all time at their very peak. Hate and conflict combining with outrageous musical talent to create an outstanding album. Then implosion.

This is where they decided to go as far as they could musically. They would never be this good again. The mix really lets it down of course, but i was prepared to overlook that in 1988 and I am prepared to overlook it now.

The best songwriter in the last 20 years, coming up with a perfect debut. It might be lightweight for some but you can't knock the sheer, singalong delight of this album.

Just great songs. Well-produced and well played. It is not pushing any boundaries but it is just so well done.

Everything comes together in Mr Wilson's finest record. Intricate and, at times, incredibly moving. Try watching the video for Routine without openly weeping

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 85.0/100, a mean average of 84.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.5.

Great chart and a good mix of albums. I added a few to my list to check out! Also, it looks like your note for v2.0 is describing The Queen Is Dead.

We may be generations apart in age & greatest album choices (only a couple in common), but I really enjoyed checking out your chart & comments. All respect to you for staying true to what you like ~ especially liked the fact that you had a fair share of albums outside the top 5000! In time you may discover the extraordinary talent of Aussie artists that are not AC/DC!

After checking your chart, I'll have to go and hear Darlinside. It was weird to see Metallica and Keane together at the top butt I respect it . ¡Saludos desde México!
